Hand Tools
Steel tools are good for soapstone, alabaster, limestone, and soft marbles. Carbide chisels are preferred for harder stones.
Hand chisel set: This beginner set includes the tools for working most stones. The set includes a point, toothed and flat chisel, a 1.6# square hammer and a “4 N 1” rasp. $ 60. (Except for the hammer, all are Italian or USA made.)

Milani Rasps
Milani makes the best rasps. The teeth are designed not to leave straight scratches. The edges are sharp to work in all directions. These are the longest lasting steel rasps. There are many shapes in stock so let's discuss your application.
