Hand Tools and Rasps
Steel tools are good for soapstone, alabaster, limestone, and soft marbles. Carbide chisels are preferred for harder stones.
Hand chisel set: A beginner set usually includes the tools for working most stones. The set includes a point, toothed and flat chisels, a 1.6# square hammer and a “4 N 1” rasp. The price is about $60 – $100. The set is custom selected based on your projects and types of stone.
